Library workers are our superheroes. Tireless, resourceful, and all-around pretty darn amazing.
These inspiring men and women are the heart of every branch across Brooklyn�leading events, organizing classes, and helping every single person that walks through the doors. It's because of their outstanding dedication that our 60 library branches can thrive.
But even superheroes need support. That�s why we are calling on you.
Without full funding from the city, library workers won�t have the resources they need to sufficiently serve all of Brooklyn�s residents. It's time to take action:
Support BPL's workers and staff by urging the Mayor and City Council to preserve and expand the budget for libraries now.
When our libraries are fully funded, branch workers and patrons alike benefit from better resources and more support to serve all of New York City�s neighborhoods. Our community thrives.
Thanks to last year's budget increase, BPL was able to hire nearly 100 more workers and offer 6-day service at every branch for the first time in nearly a decade! We are so proud of this victory for our entire borough�and we owe it to all of our incredible workers to maintain this investment for years to come.
